When it comes to noise, construction or Zoning issues/ complaints, the Mayor and Council would like residents to know what steps are available for you to take.
If you feel that the noise fits the definition of unreasonable noise within the Borough’s ordinance, then contact the police. Our Ordinances/Codes are accessible at your fingertips via our website home page, or click here: https://www.califonboro.org/code-book/ .
If you believe that your situation may be a zoning or construction violation, please contact the municipal office and the zoning officer and or construction official will investigate the situation. If there is a violation, a summons will be issued.
You have the right to bring your complaint directly to the Califon Municipal Court. You can make a complaint directly to the court for what you believe is a violation. Please note, Califon utilizes a shared court which is located at 43 Schooley’s Mountain Road in Long Valley, NJ.
