Spotted Laternflies lay their eggs on tree trunks and branches in the fall. Come May, the eggs begin to hatch and these bugs, although some say pretty, are ready to reap havoc on our trees and plants. One of the members of our Environmental Commission found the below video that shows how easy it is to remove these egg sacs. If you do not want to “squish or crush the eggs, you can always just scrape them off the tree into a container of bleach.
