Chief Almer’s Letter to Califon

February 13, 2018

To the residents of the Borough of Califon,

I want to take this opportunity to thank all of you for your ongoing support of our police department.  Washington Township Police has been serving Califon for nearly 12 years, and we have enjoyed every moment of it.  Califon is a wonderful community and my officers and I have gotten to know many of you personally and have worked with you closely on many different incidents through the years.

Last year, we generated nearly 7,000 activity entries in Califon, ranging from property checks, to car stops, to community policing, and every other kind of call you can imagine.  Our presence has increased dramatically we have dedicated more time and resources to the community.

Our department also offers many kinds of training for the community, from CPR, First Aid, Cyber Crime, Social Media Awareness, Defensive Tactics, Active Shooter, as well as many other programs.  We are also going to start the Safe Stop program this year.   So if you would like to learn more about what we have to offer, please contact me and we can set something up.  If there is something you don’t see, let me know and we can put a program together.

Please keep an eye on our Facebook Page (https://www.facebook.com/wtpdmorris?fref=ts) which will also announce programs we are putting on as well as other departmental and community information. You can also visit us at wtpdmorris.org.

Thank you again, and we look forward to continuing our commitment to Califon and keeping the area safe for all of you.   Please feel free to contact me anytime or email me (jalmer@wtpdmorris.org) if there is anything I can do for you.

Respectfully,
Chief Jeffrey Almer
